Quality Technician

Requirements:

  • Ability to work overtime as needed. 
  • Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules. 
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift b and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift.
  • Have appropriate eye, hand, and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools.
  •  Ability to load/unload, lift/move equipment/product which may weigh up to 50 pounds. 
  • Pass all company testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct line audits.
  • Monitor and report the status of the results of the line audit to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
  • Collect and label retention, customer, and microbiological samples according to plant and customer specifications.
  • Assist in incoming inspection as needed.
  • Complete and submit all audit and line evaluation documentation at the end of the shift.
  •  Conduct line audits (weight compliance, seal integrity, pouch, carton/cups/bottles and case audits).
  • A complete understanding of the operation, maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments and recording information on required documents.
  • Monitor weight control and metal detection equipment and document. Ability to check levels and correct cap applications. Communicate these results to upper management.
  • Understand weight compliance. Perform calculations of weight data (e.g. mean, average, etc.) and enter data into Data mite system.
  • Supply production with the necessary information for start-up or changeover.
  • Responsible for the proper codes on cases, bottles, cups, and cartons if specified by your location.
  • Follow all company policies including but not limited to general manufacturing and safety practices.
  • This position has responsibility for Food Safety and Quality within their influence. The associate in this job has the responsibility to report, in a timely manner, Food Safety and Quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action on those problems.
  • Perform any other duties as instructed by management.
